Parking Lost Safety Procedures
Falcon Academy of Science & Technology
DROP OFF & PICK UP PROCEDURES
Because of liability and safety precautions, please review the following procedures with anyone who may be responsible for picking up or dropping off your child at school.
For the safest and most efficient drop off and pick up,
use of our CONE ZONE is encouraged.
- CONE ZONE Drive-thru times are
- Mornings: 8:30-8:45 a.m.
- Afternoons: Daily 2:50-3:10 p.m. (Wednesdays 2:05 – 2:25 p.m.)
- Once you enter the CONE ZONE, you must stay in it and pull forward as far as possible before stopping. Parking is not allowed at any time and vehicles cannot be left unattended.
- Yield to the buses that will cut in during the afternoon to reach the bus loading zone.
Parking
- If you choose not to use the CONE ZONE or you wish to meet your child after class, you must park in the main lot.
- The small north parking lot is for STAFF parking only. For safety as students walk past the entrance of the staff lot, no pulling in and out of this lot for drop off or pick up of your child.
- Students should use sidewalks as much as possible. For this reason, use of the parking spaces adjacent to the curb is recommended. However, if a student must cross through the parking lot, an adult must walk with them.
Other
- The parking lot is one way only.
- All cars should enter the parking lot in a single line and either enter the CONE ZONE or find a parking space.
- Children may never walk into the parking lot unless they are accompanied by an adult.
- Keep the crosswalk and intersection in front of the school clear.
Our goal at Falcon Academy is the safety and wellness of all of our students. With that in mind, I kindly ask everyone to be respectful of our parking lot rules to help keep all students safe and traffic moving smoothly.
We understand that everyone is busy and wants to pick up their kiddos quickly—but the only way this works is if we all work together to keep traffic flowing. Your teamwork makes a huge difference in keeping our community safe and smooth-running.
As you've seen, a police officer will continue to come to campus from time to time to assist with traffic control, and we truly need your partnership every day. Please note the following reminders:
-
Pick-Up/Drop-Off Lane: This lane is for quick pick-ups and drop-offs only. Students should be ready to independently exit the car immediately with no delay. Please always pull all the way forward as directed to the middle of the blue line only. The green area is for buses.
-
TK/K families have been notified by their classroom teachers at the beginning of the year that if their students cannot independently unbuckle and get out of the car, then walk to the appropriate gate, parents are to park in unmarked neighborhood areas or in our parking lot where the parking spot is not marked 'staff'.
-
The pick-up/drop-off lane is meant for quick drop-offs only, where students independently exit the car immediately with no delay. Please pull all the way forward as directed.
-
Pick-Up Flow: If your child is not outside when you arrive, you will be asked to loop back around so we can keep traffic moving. Families at the entrance point should kindly yield and allow these cars back in to ensure smoother flow.
-
Staying in Cars: Please remain in your car during drop-off unless you have parked in a designated space and are walking your child to the gate. Please remain in your car during drop-off unless you have parked in an appropriate spot and are physically walking your child to the gate.
-
No adults are allowed on campus, including during TK/K drop-off and pick-up.
-
No adult will be unbuckling your child.
-
If your child needs assistance getting out of the car, or if you need to grab items from the trunk, please park in an allowable neighborhood spot or an open parking lot space (not the north lot, which is staff only). You may want to come early as parking fills up quickly.
We will continue to send reminders until traffic is running smoothly—our goal is safety and efficiency for everyone. Thank you for doing your part to model patience and respect for our Falcon community.
A note about our volunteers:
-
The gentlemen holding signs are parent volunteers—please be kind and respectful, as they are generously giving their time to keep our campus safe. They will not open car doors or unbuckle students. Their time is spent helping with safety and traffic flow.
-
Our crosswalk guard is also a volunteer Falcon Academy family member.
Crosswalk Safety:

At the crosswalk, there are signs and buckets to guide you.
